Thanks to your generosity, the Highlands County GMRS Group today has successfully purchased a Commscope DB420 antenna. Once installed, this upgrade will significantly enhance coverage on the 462.675 Sebring repeater, allowing us to better serve our local community as well as surrounding counties during both everyday operations and times of natural disaster.
We have already conducted initial testing using an antenna analyzer, and the results have been excellent. On the transmit frequency (462.675), SWR remained steady at 1.0. On the receive frequency (467.675), readings ranged between 1.1 and 1.2—strong performance overall, with particularly exceptional results on the transmit side.
At this time, an installation date has not yet been determined. Once it is scheduled, we will share a public update.
We remain committed to continuing improvements and system expansions in order to provide reliable GMRS coverage throughout Highlands County and beyond. Thank you again for your continued support and for being a part of this effort.
